Eastern Iowa Events
Grease – Live on Stage! One of Broadway’s most popular musicals of all time comes to Cedar Rapids this fall. From September 8th through October 2nd, Grease will performed live on stage at The Old Creamery Theatre in nearby Amana. Tickets available now, and they range between $30 and $12.
An Evening with Vince Gill
Regarded as a modern legend in country music, Vince Gill brings his band into Cedar Rapids on October 19th. Head for the Paramount Theatre at 8 p.m. and enjoy a performance from this multiple CMA, ACM, and Grammy Award winner.
UNI Panthers vs. Missouri State Bears
Fall in eastern Iowa means it’s time for thrilling college football action. Head for the UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls on October 22nd, 2016 for an exciting match-up between the UNI Panthers and the Missouri State Bears. Game time is 1 p.m., and tickets are available now.
John Denver Musical Tribute
Visit the Cedar Rapids area of eastern Iowa on Saturday, November 12th for night celebrating the musical talents of John Denver. Head over to the Old Creamery Theatre at 7:30 p.m. and watch as country music star Ted Vigil honors the late legend by playing his hits!
The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe
In Waterloo, be sure to visit the Hope Martin Theatre on November 11th or 12th for a live performance of C.W. Lewis’ classic fable The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. Friday’s show has curtains at 1 p.m., while Saturday’s begins at 2 p.m.
Kenny G – Live!
Enjoy a holiday celebration in Cedar Falls. Head for the Gallagher Bluedorn Performing Arts Center on December 16th and catch a live performance from the iconic jazzman himself, Kenny G.

Anna Gaskell/The Mirror Exhibit Visit Des Moines soon and check out an excellent art show. Head for the Des Moines Art Center and explore the Anna Gaskell/The Mirror Exhibit. The show runs from August 12th through November 3rd, though the DMAC is closed on Mondays.
Iowa State Cyclones vs. Oklahoma Sooners Fall in the Iowa means many things, but don’t you forget about Iowa State Cyclones football. Head into Ames on November 3rd and visit Jack Trice Stadium, where the Cyclones will be hosting the Oklahoma Sooners in a Big 12 match-up. Kickoff is 6:30 p.m.
Sturgill Simpson – Live!
Arguably one of the premier voices in country music performing today, Sturgill Simpson brings show into Des Moines on November 2nd. With his unique blend of classic country vocals and modern blues, funk, and rock, this is a can’t-miss show in central Iowa.
A Christmas Story – Live!
Plan a visit to Fort Dodge this holiday season and treat the family to an evening of laughs. Head for the Hawkeye Community Theatre from December 15th through 17th for a live performance of the classic “A Christmas Story.” Shows start at 7 p.m., and families are welcome.
Cherokee Lighted Christmas Parade
In western Iowa, visit the charming city of Cherokee this holiday season for a real treat. Head for downtown Cherokee on December 1st at sundown, and be dazzled by their annual Cherokee Lighted Christmas Parade, presented by the Cherokee Chamber of Commerce.
